To insure children's health and safety, we follow licensing guidelines regarding pets. We keep the pets at ICC in well-managed, clean cages and containers. There are a few fish tanks, that contain turtles and Hamsters, which are typically well maintained by parent volunteers. Classrooms with these pets make it a part of their weekly routine to ensure that these pets are well cared for and that the space is kept clean and free of germs. On the rare occasion that children touch the animals, they are asked to wash their hands with soap and water immediately afterwards. We understand the desire to bring family pets into the classroom, however prior approval from the office must be obtained before doing so. Please leash your family pet safely away from where children play.
