Process in Addressing and Communicating Concerns:

1. (Suggested/Encouraged) The person address the people involved directly. For example, a parent would schedule an appointment speak directly with the staff/teacher regarding the concern.

2. If parent is unable to address with staff/teacher and/or does not think the concern is resolved, then parent should request to meet with the ICC Executive Director. This scheduled meeting shall communicate the concern and state the actions thus taken. As needed, a written action plan and follow-up shall be agreed upon and adhered to. This may include a time frame for resolution.

3. If the parent is still unsatisfied with the resolution of their concern, the next suggested step is to schedule conflict resolution and mediation through the Interfaith Center for Peace (ICP) ICP is a “neutral” and professional party whose work emphasized effective communication and peaceful resolutions to concerns or problems.

4. If, after mediation, the parent is still dissatisfied with the resolutions, actions, etc., the parent may bring their concern to the Board of Directors. This must be a scheduled agenda item. The Board will reply to the concern in writing with any additional action plan and time line.

Note: The Board does not wish to discourage parents from attending the Board Meetings and wants to have concerns addressed in a timely fashion. The Board encourages parents or family members to follow the above steps to effectively addressing their concerns.
